comparing Royal China to Yum Cha is like comparing salmon & ikan billis. Royal China gave us one of the best dim sum dining experience ever. To-die-for dimsum created with the freshest ingredients, attentive service, tiffany blue interior.
Another dim sum place which blew me away was Old Hongkong Kitchen at Novena Square 2,Absolutely worth a visit. Abit out of topic but the dimsum at Genting Palace Restuarant at Genting/ Genting Highlands was oh so yummy. We ate soooo much but only paid $20 SGD per pax, the standard at Genting Palace is almost our 5 star hotel standard

Oh I haven’t tried Royal China at Raffles. Based on your words, it must be pretty good?

Forgot to point that out, yes, it’s their lunch ala-carte buffet :)

Wow, thanks for the recommendation. Apart from buffets, I have never encountered any restaurant that limits certain orders of their dishes!

I still find when I’m in a mood to splurge, Cherry Garden at Mandarin Oriental has always hit the mark. Pricey though, and you’re only allowed to order some of their dishes once, alas!

Looks like we share a few common tastes in food (although I don’t remember those red serviettes much). Having been to Yum Cha a few times over the past few years, I find that the food quality ranges from average to slightly above average. Decent, though not exceptional.

As to where to find the best dim sum in Singapore, I’m still looking for a restaurant that will blow me away.

Nothing really off the charts, but the ambience is very acceptable. There is better dim sum elsewhere, but expect to pay a correspondingly higher price.

Side note: Also, their red serviettes are of very high quality :)
