Quite likely the chefs at Fairmont Singapore made it from scratch. I have no idea who stocks mock pork (try saying that 10 times fast!), sorry. I’m quite the carnivore myself.

thanks for the clarification. Now that mock pork exists, can you tell me who stocks this and the maker of this fascinating ingredient. :)

Ah yes, it is mock duck and mock pork. Sorry for the confusion.

Speaking of mock abalone, I had it during a Chinese New Year steamboat. And my, it tastes better than the real thing! Tender and full of flavour. Never been a fan of the actual abalone, but the fake one, I can have it any day!

I agree that vegetarian zhongxi might be more gastronomically challenged although the Organic Brown Rice Dumpling here looks every bit interesting and unusual. I was a little surprised to read in your post that it has minced pork mixed in with the rest of its filling. That can’t be right, can it since it is a veggie version? Or was it mock pork you’re referring to? I love mock duck and abalone but I’ve not had mock pork yet…. would love to try it, if it exists. :)
