You can view more details in my day 1 post. Then you can take a taxi to get to the town Sungei Rengit

While you’re there, you may wanna check out Desaru too. It’s a beach resort area further up north.

Your pictures look interesting, I heard that Pengerang is a wonderful place for nature, beach and seafood eateries. I haven’t been there before, do you have any good recommendation and detailed information on how to get there?

Regards

Kate

I didn’t realise that another tornado hit Johor in 2001. The one that I witnessed was some time in the early 90s, when I was just a little girl. It was a scary experience seeing the tornado take out part of the roof of the buildings. But everyone was too transfixed to even think of running! Haha!

That ‘tornado’ you mentioned, I guess it was the tropical storm that ‘hit’ S’pore/Johor at the end of Dec 2001? I was there for my Desaru cycling (from Changi; Spore) a day after the 2 day storm. N boy, were the damages great… huts with roofs blown off, holes in roofs, uprooted trees were common sights. not to mention, plenty of coconuts strewn over the area.
